First blog post

This is the post excerpt.

Ideas are like seeds, shower them with enthusiasm, nurture them with love and support them with direction. Communities can work together, take control, change our places and our spaces. We just have to believe, together we can make things happen

What interesting times we live in

At the moment I look forward to waking up every morning and connecting to some sort of media to catch up on the next hilarious instalment of the comedy that is the world we are living in.

smileyWho needs drama when our current reality is pretty much guaranteed to make you laugh out loud?

Every new snippet from those in power me makes a smile.

I know, the state of the world is no laughing matter, but I have found the best way for me to deal with it is by treating it all as part of my comedy entertainment fix, whilst also being reassured by the knowledge that there are others in society, who like me, can see the world as we know it (at least institutionally) is starting to crumble, and you know what, this may not be a bad thing, who knows what the future may bring.

As Margaret Mead reminds us, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

Keep the faith……and keep laughing

Why Just Ruth?

Why did I choose Just Ruth as my business name?

I’d always been part of something bigger, representing an organisation, setting up a business, working for myself, well it was just me

And what was my business mission?

Supporting and encouraging entrepreneurs, whether they are running their own businesses or leading social enterprises.

I know I’m not going to change the world on my own, but if my contribution of a listening ear, a little advice and encouragement helps them to strengthen their business, and therefore be there to continue to support their clients, I will have achieved something.

I believe in a fair and just world and hope some of what I do helps us on the path towards this.

So Just Ruth, it’s “JUST” because it’s all about fairness and it’s “JUST” because it’s only me.
